Welcome from Jo Nickolls – Principal at Churchfield C of E Primary Academy.
Churchfield CE Primary Academy is a single-form entry Primary in Rugeley. We take children from the age of 2, in our Little Scholars setting through to Year 6.
‘Walk in the light of the Lord,’ is central to all that the school offers the children and community, and underpins the Christian Values of the school. We see ourselves as bringing light into the lives of the children and community, both in terms of sharing the love of God and a love of learning. This light opens pathways to equip our children with the skills in life to enable them to become balanced, creative and successful individuals with a sense of purpose and destiny. The children leave Churchfield with a life-long love of learning. The school prides itself on the support offered to all of our families.
Our academy has expansive grounds featuring an outdoor classroom, two playgrounds, and a 50m long trim trail. Our Early Years area includes story telling chairs, and an amazing new Hobbit house. The indoor areas have all had improvements made in the last couple of years, including a new office area and lockers for the children.
We have been described as a “reading school” and place great importance on this key skill. The use of quality texts in English and a mastery approach to Maths, coupled with our newly introduced Connected Curriculum give children the chance to develop and uncover talents through challenging, engaging and diverse activities.
Visitors to our school often comment on the friendly, calm, happy environment and a feeling of family. We believe that we know every child as an individual, and place great importance on the establishment of strong and positive relationships with parents and carers.
